Owner/President Kathleen Christmas is a veteran legal nurse consultant with over 20 years of experience in the medical-legal arena. She is proficient at creating clear, understandable summaries of volumes of medical records. Her strength lies in recognizing small but unique details in voluminous documents that will provide tactical advantages for litigation clients. She provides services for both plaintiff and defense attorneys as well as insurance companies.
Ms. Christmas’ legal nurse consultant career began in 2001 with review of medical malpractice cases filed against the State of Louisiana. Over the years, she has expanded her practice to include case reviews with varied subject matters such as personal injury, medical malpractice, workmen’s compensation, toxic tort/class action, and wrongful death.
She has “hands on” experience in a variety of clinical settings, including emergency room, psychiatric and long-term acute care. She has also worked as a case manager for victims of catastrophic accidents resulting in brain, spinal cord, crush, and amputation injuries. Kathleen’s administrative experience includes utilization review as an in-house nurse in insurance company settings and a case manager in hospital settings.
Kathleen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from The Louisiana State University School of Nursing, and a legal nurse consultant certificate from The Louisiana State University CLE program. She is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants and serves on the board of the New Orleans Paralegal Association.
Ms. Christmas founded Nurse Paralegal USA, a legal nurse consulting and paralegal services firm, in 2015. Her focus for Nurse Paralegal USA has been to develop a tenured staff who are familiar with the needs of individual clients. She personally trains and mentors all staff members, working with each person to ensure excellence for each and every product that reaches a client.
Today, the firm consists of medical professionals and paralegals who provide superior medical records services and legal support to attorneys from case inception through closure of the matter.
